The announcement of the new name(s) comes after nearly 11 months of study by FHA staff and the Board of Directors, including discussions with stakeholders, allies, focus groups, national advisors, and local marketing experts.

Executive Director Norman Woods issued the following statement:

“Threats to the family are happening at every turn, and South Dakotans have had enough. Our voices must be heard on pressing issues like parental rights, religious liberty, and the sanctity of life. As we step into this next chapter of our story, we will speak with added clarity and speak with a strong voice – the Family Voice.”

Cindy Howell-Washabaugh, Chair of the FHA Board of Directors issued a statement on behalf of the board:

“The Board of Directors is excited for the future of the organization under this new banner, the banner of Family Voice. This new name will enable us to fight from a position of strength as we work to protect faith, family and freedom here in South Dakota.”
